![]() ![]() The overt amount of slipping, sliding, tail-whipping and as Clockwork Games calls it, "on the edge" racing, does indeed take skill and practice. The debate I have in my head about this game is that on the one hand, there is a kernel of masochistic gaming fun that definitely can be had by playing Vanishing Point. Last year, Acclaim's Vanishing Point, a physics-heavy arcade racer at one time looked like it may have led the racing genre out with grace and style, but after playing the final version, it would be difficult for me to recommend this game for anyone unless they are desperate for something, anything, to race. For every five racers, maybe one was really worth its weight in wing nuts. Thankfully, in a way, I'm glad the system is finally receiving fewer racers, and games, for that matter. With dozens upon dozens of racing games heaped onto the PlayStation, a gamer's job of finding a quality one is difficult, to say the least.
